Katie’s Story

Since moving to the Highlands with her family, in 2019 Katie has rekindled her love of art, being inspired initially by the beautiful Landscapes, wildlife, books, and Scottish myths and legends. Using mainly lino printing and constantly developing more and trying out new techniques she soon found she was very passionate about creating art and the enjoyment people can get out of the process. Creating art is fun, calming and expressive and this has led to Katie starting to move into working with the community. Katie has done workshops in schools, at local community organisations and also in her home Studio near Wick, Caithness. The first exhibition Katie took part in was the Annual Exhibition for the Society of Caithness Artist's. Katie has took part in of The Legends of Caithness Exhibition and was part of The Dreams Project which is a permanent exhibition in a local hospital. In April this year, Katie created an immersive solo exhibition inpired by books and has lots more planned for the future.
